Community Services BoardMental Health Services & ProgramsSerious Mental IllnessMental illnesses can affect persons of any age, and can occur in any family. Several million people in this country have a serious long-term mental illness. Supported living counselors work with individuals who have serious mental illness to find, obtain and keep housing in Chesterfield County, and Provide assistance in daily living skills. Chester House is a clubhouse for adults who have experienced serious and persistent mental illness. Members contribute in meaningful ways to the community and clubhouse through various programs. Crisis InterventionThe Chesterfield Crisis Intervention Team is a 24-hour emergency mental health program for citizens of Chesterfield County. 24-HOUR EMERGENCY (804) 748-6356 Child & Adolescent Services TeamThe Child and Adolescent Services Team (CAST) provides specialized services and supports to children and adolescents through age 17 with serious mental health needs. Many of the young people served by our program have experiences, or at risk for, out-of-home placement. Outpatient ServicesTalking with a trained counselor is often all that is needed to help a person get his or her life back on track. Counseling can help people resolve difficulties and better understand themselves and others. Services are flexible and may include individual, couple, family, and group counseling.
