Predesign has begun on the new Reams-Gordon Library. A final design should be completed next spring and the groundbreaking is anticipated to occur in the late spring.

Construction of 300 feet of sidewalk to close a gap between sidewalks on Walmsley Boulevard will begin next year.

Aproject to rebuild Woolridge Road across Swift Creek Reservoir had been on hold because of a lack of funding, but, with the approval of the Magnolia Green Community Development Authority, the board has now authorized staff to begin the work, and the design phase is under way.

Federal Regional Surface Transportation Program funds have been allocated to construct turn lanes on Reams Road at Rosegill Road. VDOT is managing this project, and the schedule has not been determined at this time.

At Rockwood Park, renovation of the tennis courts will be completed next month. The walking trails also are
undergoing renovations that will be completed by the end of the summer.

Franklin Street Marketing, one of the nation’s premier health care communication firms, has opened a new 7,300-square-foot office building in Moorefield Park. The firm provides brand consultation, strategic planning, research, advertising and public-relations services to the health and wellness community.

Virginia Air Distributors, a wholesale distributor of HVAC equipment, will expand and move to the Waterford Business Center on Charter Colony Parkway. Virginia Air Distributors will build a 66,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility. The company plans to invest approximately $5.5 million and create 10 new jobs. The company currently has 31 employees.
