Payroll
Major Services
-
Process an accurate and timely payroll
for Chesterfield County employees in accordance with federal/state
regulations and county policy. This includes workers compensation & board
payments.

Provide customer service to county employees
to resolve any questions or issues employees may have concerning
salary, benefits, or deductions and to clarify and/or explain federal & state
payroll regulations and county payroll policies & procedures.

Remit all tax withholdings and process
all wage & tax reports(941,VEC, W-2's, etc.) required by law.

Reconcile all payroll withholdings/expenses
from payroll system reports to the appropriate general ledger accounts
and billing statements. Request/remit payments to appropriate individuals
or agencies.

Maintain and enhance all payroll systems
to meet the needs of system users and customers. This includes developing,
testing, implementing, and training on system upgrades and modifications
and maintaining security for all systems.

Write and maintain ad-hoc payroll reports
for all county departments as needed.

Monitor coverage and payments for continued
health insurance coverage (COBRA) participants and retired employees.

Research special tax issues to determine
appropriate handling for payroll purposes.
