Substance Abuse

Chesterfield Substance Abuse Services staff are specialists trained to evaluate and help individuals and families with alcohol and other drug related problems.  A variety of services based on personal situation and motivation are provided.

Treatment Phases

  • Pre-Treatment Phase - Educational and discussion groups assist individuals in making informed decisions about treatment choices.
  • Active Treatment Phase - Services focus on helping individuals achieve sobriety and can include individual, group and family therapy.
  • Continuing Care Phase - Support groups address early recovery issues.

General Outpatient Services

Anyone seeking services for a substance abuse problem is offered assistance through an orientation group which is held twice a week.  Assessments determine whether individual, family, or group counseling would be the best treatment approach.

Women's Services

We offer an array of services to women, especially those of childbearing age, who have an alcohol or other drug related problem.  Experienced female staff evaluate and treat women, addressing specific issues such as family violence.  Other supports offered are transportation and childcare services as resources allow.

Child and Youth Services

High School students with an alcohol or drug problem and their families can receive intensive group and family counseling services.  In addition, students may participate in educational groups held weekly at all county high schools.

Middle school students may also receive help for an alcohol or drug problem through family counseling sessions.
